The weekend of December 7th and 8th, 2024, hosted one of the most anticipated events of the year in the Centurion Commander format: the Centurion Nationals 2024.
Today, we look at how it went, the Player of the Year, and the exclusive event held at the beautiful H-Demia Penta venue, which welcomed the top players of the year, who had qualified through a season of intense competition.
On Saturday, December 7th, 19 players competed in five intense Swiss rounds to determine the top four players who would advance to the top 4. Here are the protagonists and their respective decks:
- Francesco Di Filippo with Teferi, Temporal Archmage – list
- Federico Perno with Tameshi, Reality Architect – list
- Pier Giorgio Tomasello with Geist of Saint Traft – list
- Andrea Magherini with Hogaak, Arisen Necropolis – list
The semifinals saw the following matchups:
- Geist of Saint Traft against Tameshi – Tameshi wins
- Teferi, Temporal Archmage against Hogaak, Arisen Necropolis – Teferi wins
The contenders for the title were Teferi and Tameshi. After three hard-fought games, Federico Perno managed to triumph with his Tameshi, Reality Architect, securing the title of Player of the Year 2024 with a 2-1 score!
