Let’s talk about the Ban List – June

June 16, 2024

Modern Horizons brought a lot of new cards to the format, with the potential to change the game once again. Many of these cards could become staples of the format and we hope they can integrate into the meta without causing imbalance or unpleasant gameplay experiences.

After a careful evaluation of the available options, we decided to act quickly to preserve the integrity of the gaming experience, especially considering the upcoming major events of the tournament season.

On 14 June, we therefore published a new Ban List update, with one significant change: the banning of Nadu, Winged Wisdom as commander. It is important to emphasise that this decision was taken as an exceptional measure.

Committee member Federico Perno discussed this decision in detail during a live broadcast on the Mages of Lotus channel. This live was an opportunity to answer questions from the chat, analyse the format’s progress and assess its overall health.

For those who wish to delve deeper, the recording of the live is available and offers a comprehensive overview of all the considerations that led to this important decision. Enjoy!
