Uro, Titan of Nature’s Wrath
Uro is back as a commander, enriching Simic strategies by providing card advantage and life gain. Ideal for control and combo archetypes, it promises to positively diversify the metagame, offering two main approaches to leverage its potential.
Control Deck
This build focuses on battlefield control, combining efficient removal spells and stack interaction to maintain an advantage. Uro serves as a resource engine, ensuring a steady flow of value and acting as a potential win condition.
Combo Deck (Genesis Storm)
This version uses Uro as an engine and a fallback win condition in the absence of the primary finishers: Genesis Storm (Jace, Wielder of Mysteries and Thought Lash) or infinite turns through Capture of Jingzhou, Capsize, and Mystic Sanctuary.
Ragavan, Nimble Pilferer
Ragavan returns as a commander, providing a competitive and accessible aggro option. Its presence broadens the metagame, making it more inclusive and introducing mono-red burn as a powerful strategy focused on mana efficiency, card advantage, and rapid damage output.
Hermit Druid
Hermit Druid makes its debut in the format as part of the 99s. While its potential is situational, it could find an ideal home in decks like Hogaak, Arisen Necropolis or pave the way for new structures, such as in the Esika, God of the Tree list.
Explore, Test, Create!
The January 16, 2025, Banlist update introduces powerful and exciting tools that promise to revolutionize the Centurion Commander 1v1 format. From the value generated by Uro to Ragavan’s aggressive bursts and the intricate combos of Hermit Druid, the possibilities are endless.
