Brewing: Magic X Marvel

October 21, 2024

The wait is finally over! At New York Comic Con, Wizards of the Coast gave fans a breathtaking preview: the first Magic: The Gathering cards inspired by the Marvel universe. This collaboration for the Magic: The Gathering Universe Beyond project marks the debut of Marvel’s iconic comic book heroes in the world of Magic, an event that’s already sparking the imagination of millions of fans!

And here at Centurion Commander, we can’t wait to show you how these new commanders can make an impact in the 1v1 format!

The new cards will be available starting November 4th, in an exclusive Secret Lair Superdrop. Each character comes with iconic reprints in new graphic versions, adorned with quotes that capture the essence of their Marvel alter ego.

Let’s discover who the stars are and how you can use them in Centurion!

Captain America, First Avenger

The symbol of justice manifests in Magic with a Jeskai commander capable of protecting and supporting the team just like Captain America. This Secret Lair features Sigarda’s Aid in the “Captain America’s Aid” version, Flawless Maneuver, In the Trenches, and Sword of War and Peace in the “Shield of War and Peace” version, perfect for keeping your army standing strong.

Black Panther, Wakandan King

With Black Panther, we enter the heart of Wakanda! This white/green commander is a master at distributing +1/+1 counters on lands. The Secret Lair includes Secure the Wastes, Primal Vigor (in the “Bast’s Blessing” version), Heroic Intervention, and Karn’s Bastion (in the “Wakandan Skyscraper” version) – everything you need to expand T’Challa’s kingdom!

Iron Man, Titan of Innovation

Tony Stark’s genius translates into a technologically advanced, artifact-based commander, ready to create explosive synergies. In the Secret Lair, you’ll find powerful reprints: Galvanic Blast, Commander’s Plate, Sol Ring, and Inventors’ Fair.

Or, if you want to represent the mad side of the genius, you can use this list featuring Goblin Charbelcher.

Storm, Force of Nature

The iconic mutant Ororo Munroe, known as Storm, embodies the power of the elements with a deck that harnesses the storm mechanic. Alongside Lightning Bolt, the Secret Lair includes Jeska’s Will in the “Storm’s Will” version, Ice Storm, and Manamorphose in the “Ororo Borealis” version. Harness the power of the skies and unleash chaos on the battlefield!

Wolverine, Best There Is

The adamantium mutant makes his debut in Magic with a fierce and resilient deck, perfect for those who love aggression and survival. The Secret Lair includes reprints of Berserk, Rite of Passage, Rhythm of the Wild, and The Ozolith.

These Marvel heroes aren’t just aesthetic additions to the world of Magic, but they are ready to become potential decks in the Centurion Commander format. We can’t wait to see what strategies they will inspire you to create!
