132 players – Legion War: a brief story

Legion War has become a phenomenon in the Centurion format, capturing the hearts of Italian players since 2019. Matteo Gulmini, one of the main organizers, explains that Legion War originated from a desire to create a major event for Centurion, responding to the growing enthusiasm of communities across Italy who wanted a chance to meet and compete.

The inaugural Legion War, held in May 2019, drew 64 players from all corners of the country. This debut marked the beginning of a tradition that has since grown exponentially. The event quickly became the most anticipated among Centurion enthusiasts, culminating in Legion War VI on April 23, 2023, which saw a record-breaking 132 participants.

Legion War is more than just a tournament; it’s a celebration for the Centurion community. Before the event, a dinner is organized where all participants can mingle, share stories, and forge new connections. This social aspect has become an integral part of the Legion War experience, fostering a warm and friendly atmosphere.

During the event, vendors offer players the chance to purchase missing cards to complete their decks or add those special touches to make their decks stand out. 

Despite the social focus, competition is fierce! Players vie for glory, prizes, and the opportunity to sign the winner’s helmet. This symbolic trophy, introduced in the very first edition, leaves an indelible mark on the history of Legion War. In addition to various prizes, the winner earns the honor of having their name inscribed on the helmet, continuing a tradition that celebrates excellence.

The event has not only solidified the Centurion format but also strengthened community bonds, creating a unique and memorable atmosphere.
